The second edition of Africa-India Field Training Exercise (Ex AFINDEX-2023) is scheduled from March 21 to March 30; inauguration on March 21 in Aundh
The second edition of the Africa-India Field Training Exercise (Ex-AFINDEX-2023) is scheduled for March 21 to March 30. A total of 24 African nations are going to participate in the aforementioned exercise, wherein 21 representatives of the chiefs of 21 African nations will be present for the exercise.
The aim of the exercise is to enable the participating contingents to hone their tactical skills, drills, and procedures in joint operations for peacekeeping under the United Nations (UN) mandate, create synergy and better understanding with armies of African nations, and promote Indian Defense Industries. The joint exercise will promote the idea of “African-Indian Militaries for Regional Unity (AMRUT)” and focus on incorporating the current dynamics of UN peacekeeping operations (UNPKF) through practical and comprehensive discussions and tactical exercise.
The opening ceremony of the exercise is scheduled for March 21 at the Foreign Training Node in Aundh. This is the second edition of Ex-AFINDEX. The first was held in 2019, where the Indian military was joined by counterparts from 17 African nations.
